What do I need to bring?
– Your own clean sheets, doona covers, pillows cases and towels. Doonas, blankets and pillows are provided. (Please wash and dry your linen before you arrive to eliminate the introduction of bed bugs to the lodge).
– Your own toiletries.
– Your own food to cook and eat.
A smile, friendly attitude and anticipation to have a great time on the mountain!!
Q. What do you provide in the lodge?
– Soap for the bathrooms.
– Laundry detergent.
All condiments, inc: Toast spreads, Tea, Coffee & Sugar etc.
Q. Is there a supermarket nearby?
There is a General Store around the corner from the lodge which has grocery supplies for most of your daily needs.
Q. What facilities does the lodge have?
– Large open plan lounge and dining area.
– Fully equiped large kitchen.
– Recreation room inc, pool table and table tennis.
– Large open wood fire.
– Multi-combination bedrooms.
– Ensuites to all bedrooms.
– Drying room for wet clothes.
– Plenty of hot water.
Plenty of food storage space inc fridges and freezers.
Q. Where do I park the car?
That depends on the season you visit! In the warmer months you can park right at the lodge. In the snow season we suggest parking in one of the longer term car parks. You can find these carparks on the Mt Hotham website by clicking on the link below. There is a short term parking area outlined on the map above that can be used for dropping off and picking up luggage to and from the lodge. A ski cage is located at the front door of the lodge to transport your gear across the snow. It’s only a short walk! A free regular bus service can transport you between the drop off point and the long term car parks.
Q. Does the lodge have a television?
No, the lodge prides itself on being TV free. Relaxation and time away from the rat race is a big part of enjoying your time at Tallawarra Lodge. If you need to catch the big game of Footy then The General Pub down the road plays most football games etc on the weekends.
Q. Is the lodge non Smoking?
Yes, it has always been a non smoking lodge and proud of it!!
If you must smoke, you must go outside and dispose of your cigarette butts responsibly. The lodge is situated in a fragile alpine environment so please do the right thing!!
Q. What are my nightlife options close to the lodge?
There are a number of choices for nightlife nearby ranging from night skiing, wining and dining, live music and discos etc.

You are expected to partake in cleaning duties which each guest must carry out. Additional charges apply if cleaning is not done.
Please note that these are shared male and female rooms if you do not have enough occupants to fill a room. You do have the option to pay for the extra beds to make your room private. Please call our reservation consultants for more information on this.
